Old v. New

We distinguish old media from new media by how easily the information can be processed, change and interpret that information. Myspace, Facebook and even Wiki are some examples of new media and how easily information could be changed and shared with many people at the same time. Old media is information that can be shared with everyone but is much harder to change. Books are one example of old media that used to be new media. That information is harder to change when there is a mistake present.

What have been some of the effects of the new media on society?

Some of the effects of the new media on society have been big ones. Today's society pretty much relies on the new media to gather together information quickly and are able to access it when ever they want to. You can find news online anytime you want and you really don't have to wait too long to get that information. Even the big News companies such as the New York Times is using new media to get their information out there faster. They are trying to to be left behind or shown up by other people who are using new media.
